TRAINING SMART, NOT HARD

I'd like to think I hold myself to a high standard. No matter what I pursued, I expected myself to aim for the top; that includes my sport: Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ)šŸ„‹.

I used to believe that as part of the journey to be one of the best, you gotta train hard 5 days a week!

While it worked for a few years, eventually the damages added upšŸ¤•, the mornings were met with aches and pains, and training started feeling like a chorešŸ˜–.

Rather than enduring it, I sat downšŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ’» and worked out how much time I would need to progress enough in my trainingšŸ‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ„‹ and then added other activities such as stretching, foam rolling, and mindful eating.

I'll admit, it was hard to do consistently in the beginning. Even nowadays, from time to time it still is. Having said that, I literally feel the difference if I train hard without thought.

The result? Training is awesome againšŸ™ŒšŸ»! And any injury is prevented and/or managed better than before šŸ’ŖšŸ». The aches and pains in the morning are mostly gone as well!
